Sydney Day 3
No chance to laze in bed, for I was to meet Kylie at 10ish in the morning. Kylie’s a great sister, who’s always around to support and encourage. Her heart for missions and God’s Word is amazing! I remember those days where we’ll just meet to study the Bible together, and another day to go to the gym, keeping fit physically and spiritually. She’s bubbly and she’s happy. Today’s meeting is no surprise. We planned it way before I got into Sydney .
First up, was pancakes brunch at Urban Bites, which was absolutely delicious. The maple syrup that came with the pancakes was divine – smooth, rich in flavour, yet not sweet. Feeling stuffed up with pancakes, we took a walk at the park, and as we walked, we chatted and caught up with each other. 2 things happened at the park – first, we saw large numbers of pigeons gathering among loaves of bread; second, we spent huge amount of time playing fetch with Pancester, the Jack Russell. Pancho doesn’t belong to us. She ran up to us with her ball, placed it in front of us and looked up at me with puppy eyes. How can you resist that!? Chatted with her owner, and learnt that Pancho does that to EVERY park user! Such a people’s dog =)
More walking led up toCampos coffee, which was a must-try, according to Daphne, and that I did! A cuppa mocha was great for a coolish kinda weather. Smooth and silky, but not as strong as the ones by the university’s library lawn. That one’s my absolute favourite. None, even in Singapore , compares to the rich, creamy mocha that the guys at Uni Library Lawn make. Sorry, Campos !! You’re still good, definitely!! =)
Will you believe Kylie and I continued walking after that pit stop? Yeah, more aimless walking. The idea was more to catch up. She shared about missions, about bible college, and her work with the kids’ church. All of them are so encouraging! The spontanity of the kids, actively sharing the gospel to their family and friends, even Muslim friends! And, the trust Kylie and her husband puts in God to lead them in their next step of ministry. Last stop, was to her house, where we downloaded pictures from each other’s cameras, and prayed.
That evening was spent with my beautiful cow, Bec. Drove up to Coogee for ice-cream/gelato – Gelatissimmo. Though we have an outlet inSingapore , personally, it’s different from the origin place, ie. Sydney . So, more catching up, more sharing, and more praying as we walked the coast, on a cold, windy Autumn night, with our ice-cream in hand. No, we’re not mad. It was a wonderful evening!
