Melbourne

this is gonna be a pretty long journey of Melbourne trip...29 June - 2 July
went with K...the whole trip has been blessed greatly by God...all the small things...wow!

Wed, 29 June
couldn't sleep...packed my room on Tuesday night, thru to Wed morning...
think my body clock was screwed up...
anyway, took a bus down to the domestic airport at 7.15am...caught a 8.45am flight to Melbourne...flew with Virgin Blue
I started feeling sleepy, and so I thought I'd take a nap.
When I woke up an hr later (flight's only 1 hr), there was an announcement that it was too foggy to land into Melbourne airport...and so the pilot decided to juz fly around Victoria (the state which Melbourne city is located at) for a bit, and if the fog doesn't clear, he will have to fly back to Sydney to refuel...
I went back to sleep...for another hr...and God cleared up the fog, and we could land!
and u know what? the fog was God's way of giving me that extra hour of sleep

checked into the hotel at 1pm...and then K n I juz went wondering around the city...walked around the gardens...they were soooo beautiful!
we had late lunch...and so we decided to have cup noodles for dinner instead.
and ooohh...Melbourne is soooo cold!

Thurs, 30 June
woke up at 6.30am...cos we were leaving on a day tour to the Great Ocean Road.
There was some history to the Great Ocean Road, but lazy to explain. Anyway, the Great Ocean Road is juz a long long long stretch of road around the mountains, by the ocean.
so we have the mountains n cliffs on 1 side, and the ocean on another.
we made a lot of stops along the way...beaches, little towns, etc.
then we went to see limestone rock formations like the 12 Apostles
came back at 9.30pm at night...dead tired

Fri, 1 July
walked over to Queen Victoria Market...nothing really special...it's like the Paddy's Market in Sydney...and we also walked along the Yarra River...very beautiful sight
and then, K n I decided to be students...we visited RMIT and Uni of Melbourne...pretty pretty uni, Uni of Melb, that is.
met up with Em for dinner...and then we went the Rialto building, a high building, where there's an observation deck to view the whole of Melbourne city. Em works in that building, on the 52 floor...real high up! so we went to her office, and then looked down over the whole city
woah!

Sat, 2 July
woke up, and then checked out from the hotel at 10am.
met up with Em again, and then she brought us to the botanic gardens, and St. Kilda beach
there's a herb garden in the botanic gardens...smell real good!
then we made a short short trip down to St. Kilda beach...very nice place, much nicer than Coogee Beach in Sydney
then we had to rush back to Melbourne city to pack lunch, and then off to the airport

and so, I'm back in Sydney
need to pack up my room...leaving for Brisbane on Tues, 5 July
