This Christmas

Christmas this year has been slightly different from the last couple of years.

Due to the economic downturn, many companies are slashing back on budget and spending, and this is seen quite a bit here at the restaurant, as there are slightly less events being held. Despite that, it’s still a busy period because we’ve got inhouse events to market and to prepare for.

Having learnt my lesson from the previous years, Christmas shopping started as early as the 1st Sunday of December, and by the end of today, I’m almost done with the shopping, except for writing of cards, and wrapping of presents. In short, I don’t feel a mad rush to complete my shopping this year.

Last, the family choir organized a caroling team this year. With Christian employers, you’ll definitely have them welcome carolers with open arms. In fact, boss had insisted that we TRY to look for carolers, to invite them to sing at the restaurants. So, place 2 of them together, what do we get? That’s right! The family choir came to sing! Went to 2 outlets on Saturday evening, and 1 outlet on Sunday.

On Sunday, I had the privilege of inviting Rev. Goh and Zinnia to dinner at our sister outlet. Not informing the choir of this “VIP audience”, naturally everyone was surprised to see them. And the choir was perfect on both evenings, singing and declaring the joy of this season!

Missed the carolers during the last weekend? Here are some snippet of the presentation. Please do pardon my not-so-advance camera, k?

This is them at the restaurant that I work at, on 20 December 2008

Last one, also at our sister outlet
